CNG Price Hikes by Rs 3.89/kg in Delhi-NCR Amid Rising LNG Costs
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi-NCR by Rs 3.89 per kg, effective Saturday.
This is the fifth hike in CNG prices this year, and the first since May, when IGL raised prices by a total of Rs 6 per kg in four phases due to rising global energy costs amid the West Asia conflict.
CNG will now cost Rs 86.98 per kg in Delhi, while it will be priced at Rs 95.59 per kg in Noida and Ghaziabad, Rs 95.47 per kg in Meerut, and Rs 92.01 per kg in Gurugram.
The increase is attributed to the doubling of liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices globally since July this year compared to pre-conflict levels, due to disruptions in cargo movements through the Strait of Hormuz.
