CNOOC Binhai LNG Terminal Hits Milestone Amid China's Growing LNG Demand
CNOOC Gas & Power has achieved a significant milestone at its Binhai liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal in Jiangsu, China. The terminal has become a crucial hub for LNG imports into the country.
The achievement comes as Norway's ALNG is expected to enter LNG trading by year-end, with its first transaction anticipated by the end of this year according to Jens-Julius Ramdahl Nygaard, interim CEO. NYK and Chinese partners CNOOC and China Merchants Energy Shipping have also named a newbuild 174,000-cbm LNG carrier at the Hudong-Zhonghua yard in Shanghai.
China Oil and Gas Pipeline Network (PipeChina) has received its 500th liquefied natural gas shipment at its LNG import terminal in Tianjin, a state-owned terminal operator. The milestone underscores China's growing demand for LNG imports to meet its energy needs.
