CNOOC Ltd, China's state-owned oil and gas company, is looking to expand its energy cooperation with the US. According to CEO Huang Yongzhang, there is still significant room for growth in this area, particularly in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.

The US is currently the world's largest LNG producer and exporter, while China is the largest importer of LNG. CNOOC has already partnered with several US companies in the past, but energy trade between the two countries has been limited due to tariffs imposed by Beijing during last year's trade war.

However, relations between China and the US have improved since then, and Huang mentioned that CNOOC is considering joint investments with US partners. He also stated that CNOOC would work with various partners to invest in projects that could create value for shareholders.
