Cobre Secures Majority Control of Sierra Atacama Copper Project
Cobre Ltd (ASX: CBE) has secured majority ownership of the Sierra Atacama Copper Project, marking a significant milestone in its expansion efforts. The company now holds a 62.86% stake in the project and has completed a USD $12 million capital raise through new convertible non-voting shares.
The move positions Cobre to capitalize on rising global copper demand, with supply constraints creating opportunities for producers. Executive Chairman Martin Holland stated that securing majority ownership at this time is 'precisely the right moment' as global copper demand enters a period of structural growth and supply becomes increasingly constrained.
