Commodity Prices See Mixed Results on August 5
On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, commodity prices fluctuated on various exchanges. The Chicago Board of Trade reported changes in corn futures, with September down 4 at $4.37 and December down 4 at $4.60 per bushel. Soybean futures also showed declines: September was down a half cent at $11.58 and November was down 1 cent at $11.76 per bushel.
Wheat futures, however, saw increases, with September up 5 cents at $6.44 and December up 5 cents at $6.62 per bushel. Live cattle futures also rose: October was up $152 at $229.42 and December was up $152 at $228.80 per hundredweight.
The U.S. CME price for live cattle was reported to be $97.07 per hundredweight, dressed weight, down $0.19 from the previous day. The 100% formula price for live cattle was $247.30 per hundred kilograms, dressed weight, up $0.19.
Market reports also included prices for crop corn and soybeans from various sources. The Andersons at Kent Bridge reported 2026 crop corn down 5 cents at $6.00 per bushel, while Underwood Grain reported a slightly different price of $6.00 per bushel for the same crop.
