Comstock Resources (NYSE:CRK) released its Q2 CY2026 earnings report, which showed that the natural gas producer's sales fell short of analyst estimates. The company reported revenue of $353.3 million, a 1.6% year-on-year increase but a 14% miss from Wall Street's expectations.

The adjusted EPS came in at $0.03, beating analysts' consensus estimate by $0.02. However, the operating margin decreased to 6.4%, down from 25.7% in the same quarter last year. Oil production also declined by 61.5% year-on-year.

The company's revenue growth has been a concern, with an annualized rate of 22.2% over the last ten years but only 4% over the last five years. This led to questions about Comstock Resources' ability to adapt and withstand changing conditions in the energy market.
