ConocoPhillips Alaska Achieves First Oil at Coyote 3SX Development
ConocoPhillips Alaska has started oil production at its Coyote 3SX development in the Kuparuk River Unit, marking a significant milestone for the company. The project, which cost approximately $800 million, came online ahead of schedule and under budget. According to Erec Isaacson, president of ConocoPhillips Alaska, 'the project shows our commitment to maximizing legacy assets while delivering safe, reliable domestic production.'
The Coyote 3SX development is expected to reach peak gross production of about 12,000 barrels per day. The project uses existing infrastructure within the Kuparuk River Unit and required additional pipeline to handle rising production volumes expected in 2026 and beyond.
