ConocoPhillips Alaska's Coyote 3SX Development Starts Oil Production Ahead of Schedule
ConocoPhillips Alaska has begun oil production at its Coyote 3SX development in the Kuparuk River Unit, with first oil achieved on August 7. The project, which cost approximately $800 million, came online ahead of schedule and under budget.
The development is located on state land on Alaska's North Slope and is expected to reach peak gross production of about 12,000 barrels per day. Erec Isaacson, president of ConocoPhillips Alaska, commented that the project shows the company's commitment to maximizing legacy assets while delivering safe, reliable domestic production.
The Coyote 3SX development uses existing infrastructure within the Kuparuk River Unit and required additional pipeline to handle rising production volumes expected in 2026 and beyond. ConocoPhillips invests roughly $1 billion annually to sustain and expand production from its legacy Alaska assets.
