ConocoPhillips Taps Andy O'Brien as New CEO to Succeed Ryan Lance
ConocoPhillips has announced that Andy O'Brien will take over as its next president and chief executive officer, effective September 1. This marks a leadership transition at one of the world's largest independent oil and gas producers.
O'Brien currently serves as ConocoPhillips' chief financial officer and executive vice president of Strategy and Commercial. He has been with the company since 1997 and joined the executive leadership team in 2022, overseeing areas including Alaska and international operations, LNG, commercial activities, corporate strategy, investor relations, finance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Ryan Lance will retire as president and CEO but remain with the company as executive chairman in a transitional role. Lance has spent 42 years with ConocoPhillips and its predecessors, serving as CEO since 2012.
