Consumers Energy Unveils 20-Year Plan for Reliable, Affordable Michigan Energy
Consumers Energy has unveiled its 20-year Energy Supply Plan to deliver reliable and affordable energy for Michigan through an all-of-the-above mix of natural gas, solar, wind, and storage.
The plan aims to meet Michigan's clean energy law targets while keeping costs rising less than the rate of inflation (3%).
Consumers Energy plans to invest in new resources, including over 19 gigawatts of solar, wind, and battery storage resources by 2040, supported by two new fast-starting natural gas plants.
The plan will also repurpose existing industrial sites and create thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of permanent positions through investments in natural gas, wind, solar, and battery storage.
