Copper Futures Stabilize Amid Steady Risk Appetite and Tightening Inventories
Copper futures have stabilized following a minor correction, supported by steady global risk appetite and declining inventories. On August 10, 2026, COMEX Copper traded at $6.63 per pound, marking an increase of 0.53% for the day and a monthly gain of approximately 2.5%. This stability is also reflected in MCX Copper, which was up 0.85% at Rs 1,377.15 per kg.
The London Metal Exchange (LME) inventories have declined to a six-month low, providing fundamental support to prices. Global market performance has been mixed, with Asian markets showing gains: the Shanghai Composite gained 0.67%, while the Hang Seng Index soared 1.05%. The Nikkei Average spiked roughly 2% and reached a three-week high.
Western markets also reported varied results, but US Markets maintained firm sentiment, with the S&P 500 closing at a record high of 7,757 on Friday. This marked the major US indices' strongest weekly performance since April 2026.
