Copper Hits Fresh Records in London and New York Amid Middle East Tensions
Copper prices in London and New York have reached fresh record highs as traders weigh the impact of persistent tariff fears and supply shortages against escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The benchmark three-month futures on the London Metal Exchange rose to $14,858.50 a metric ton, surpassing its previous peak of $14,779.00 set just prior. This marks the third consecutive session where copper has hit a new record.
In New York, Comex copper also climbed to a fresh high of $6.894 an ounce.
