Copper Intelligence Sees Copper Prices Soar as DRC Assets Advance
Copper Intelligence Inc., a U.S.-publicly traded copper exploration and development company, is making strides in its DRC assets as global copper prices reach new heights. Copper futures on COMEX have surged to record levels in 2026, with prices touching an intraday all-time high of $6.90 per pound in early August before settling in a range near $6.50, $6.70 per pound.
The company's flagship Butembo copper project in Eastern Congo is seeing progress with new drill core data from the site. Chairman Andrew Groves and President Alan Kessler presented at the Clean Energy & Metals Virtual Investor Conference on August 27, providing a corporate update and progress report on drilling at Butembo.
Copper Intelligence has diversified its DRC footprint through the acquisition of the Kitungu Exploration License (PR-15880) in the Copper Belt of southern DRC, and a strategic joint venture with CoTec Holdings Corp. focused on processing historical copper tailings in the country.
