Copper Juniors Seek to Bridge Valuation Gap
Copper prices have surged to over $14,000 per tonne, but junior miners are still struggling to get their projects valued in line with majors.
At the Diggers and Dealers forum in Kalgoorlie, executives from Aeris Resources, QMines, and 29Metals argued that their projects were undervalued and not getting the attention they deserved.
Aeris executive chair Andre Labuschagne said valuations don't reflect the dearth of advanced copper opportunities on the ASX. 'You look at where valuations are currently for copper companies,' he said. 'Currently, Tritton is the biggest copper producer not in the hands of the majors on the ASX, and generating good money.'
Labuschagne sees potential to get Tritton to 30-35,000tpa in three years, with another 15,000tpa plus zinc and gold credits out of the Stockman project.
