Copper Prices Fall on Rising Inventories and Easing Supply Tightness
Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) fell by 0.40% to $14,159 per metric ton on Monday as inventories of the metal in warehouses continued to rise.
The build-up in exchange inventories and a narrowing in nearby spreads pointed to easing supply tightness, which weighed on copper prices.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), the most-traded September copper contract was 0.48% higher at 107,800 yuan ($16,034.75) per ton.
