Copper Prices Rise 1% on Weaker Dollar and China Fiscal Measures
Copper prices rose by 1% to Rs.1,385.35 on Wednesday, supported by a weaker dollar and expectations of additional Chinese fiscal measures to strengthen economic growth.
The market sentiment improved as concerns over low inventories outside the United States supported prices, although large inflows into LME-registered warehouses eased immediate supply tightness.
According to UBS, the global copper deficit is expected to widen to 379,000 tonnes in 2027 from 219,000 tonnes in 2026, maintaining a constructive outlook with a price target of $15,500 per tonne.
