Copper Prices Soar as Hindustan Copper Sees Net Profit Surge
Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) reported a significant increase in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter of the current financial year. The company's net profit rose to Rs 352.61 crore, more than twice the Rs 134.28 crore bottomline reported during the same months of last fiscal.
Total income also saw an uptick, rising to Rs 953.60 crore in the quarter, up from Rs 526.65 crore a year ago. HCL attributed the improvement in copper prices, which have crossed $14,000 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange (LME). The company believes this trend will support copper prices in the coming years.
Hindustan Copper is making progress in its expansion projects, aiming to achieve an ore production target of 12.2 million tonnes per annum by 2030. The company has intensified monitoring of intermediate milestones and is reopening closed mines in Jharkhand, acquiring new ones in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
