Copper Prices Soar as US and China Fuel Global Demand
The copper market is experiencing a significant tightening due to rising shipments to the US and increasing orders in China, setting the stage for a potential price rally.
Futures in London have pushed past $14,000 a ton this week, a level that had only been breached on a few days this year. Many traders believe prices will soon surpass the record high of over $14,500 reached briefly during speculative buying in China at the end of January.
The surge in demand from both countries is putting pressure on global benchmark prices. The rise in shipments to the US and orders in China has led to a shortage in supply, contributing to the increase in copper prices.
