Copper Prices Soar to Record High: Exploring Investment Routes
Copper prices have reached an all-time high of $14,533 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange (LME), surpassing its previous record of $14,527.50 set in January, according to an ANI report dated August 8.
With copper prices at record levels, investors have several ways to gain exposure, from Indian mining stocks and MCX futures to metal-focused mutual funds, global copper ETFs, and overseas copper stocks.
Indian mining stocks such as Hindustan Copper, Hindalco, and Vedanta offer direct listed equity exposure, while Polycab, KEI Industries, and Finolex Cables are among the copper-consuming companies that can benefit from rising prices.
Around 5% of the global production comes from India, and investors seeking long-term portfolio exposure may consider diversified metal-sector ETFs or global copper-mining ETFs such as COPX.
