The Shanghai Metals Market reported that on September 10, the average warrant price for copper fell by $5/mt from the previous trading day to $80/mt. The average B/L price also dropped by $5/mt to $80/mt, while the average EQ copper (CIF B/L) price declined by $8/mt to $47/mt.

The SHFE/LME price ratio weakened on this day, and the Contango structure between LME September and October dates expanded. Spot premiums fell as a result of these changes.

Market activity was limited due to conferences attended by most mainstream participants during the week. Registered warrants were quoted at around $85/mt, while late-September EQ copper traded at approximately $38/mt.
