Copper Streak Snapped Amid Demand Concerns
Copper prices have taken a hit, ending their six-week winning streak as concerns over demand weigh on the market.
The metal is down 0.56% to $14,069 a metric ton on the London Metal Exchange, with the most-traded copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange also falling 0.33% to 107,460 yuan ($15,935.82) a ton.
Fastmarkets analyst Andy Farida notes that demand for base metals may appear resilient but is questionable due to accelerated asset prices and subdued wage growth.
