CopperTech Seeks to Tap Unprecedented Demand Cycle with $2.7B Investment
CopperTech Metals (CUX) is poised to capitalize on an unprecedented copper demand cycle, driven by artificial intelligence infrastructure, data centers, grid modernization, and electrification. According to CopperTech, there will be greater demand for copper over the next 25 years than has been produced across all human history.
The company's flagship asset, Konkola Plc, is a high-grade copper and cobalt producer strategically located in Zambia's Copperbelt Province. With an existing infrastructure and a multi-decade resource base, CopperTech aims to deploy state-of-the-art technologies to expand production and become a reliable supplier of copper at scale.
CopperTech plans to invest $2.7 billion over the next five fiscal years (2027-2031) in capital expenditures for Konkola Plc, with a goal of increasing copper production to 270 Ktpa by Fiscal 2030. The company expects to fund this expenditure through CopperTech's investment of proceeds from its offering and may use additional financing as needed.
