CoreMarine Completes Historic Hilli Episeyo FLNG Disconnection
CoreMarine has successfully completed the disconnection of the Hilli Episeyo floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) platform offshore Cameroon. This technically complex project was executed safely, on schedule, and at a cost-efficient price.
The FLNG vessel had been operating in Cameroon for eight years before being released to begin its next phase of operation. CoreMarine provided project management, engineering, procurement, and operational services throughout the campaign.
The company developed a novel disconnection methodology specifically suited to this facility, simplifying offshore operations, reducing execution time and cost, and ensuring safe delivery of the campaign.
Gerardo Rodriguez, Lead Project Manager of CoreMarine, praised the collaboration between the Golar and CoreMarine teams, saying: 'It was truly a team effort.' He noted that the technical complexity and fast-track nature of the project highlighted CoreMarine's engineering expertise and ability to deliver demanding offshore solutions within tight timeframes.
The Hilli Episeyo is expected to arrive at Golfo San Matías by mid-2027, supporting the development of Argentina's natural gas export infrastructure. This will be after upgrading works in Singapore are completed.
