Corn and Soybean Futures Rise as Wheat Surges
The closing markets for Friday, August 14, showed mixed results across various commodity futures on the Chicago Board of Trade. Corn Futures saw an increase of 11 cents to $4.59 for September delivery and $4.83 for December delivery.
Soybean Futures also rose, with a gain of 10 cents to $11.76 for September delivery and $11.91 for November delivery. Wheat Futures were up significantly at 21 cents to $6.74 for September delivery and $6.89 for December delivery.
On the other hand, Live Cattle Futures declined by 127 dollars to $218.77 for October delivery and $218.25 for December delivery. Feeder Cattle Futures also fell, with a drop of 220 dollars to $335.00 for September delivery and $325.95 for October delivery.
From The Andersons at Blacks Lane, the prices for 2026 Crop Corn were up 11 cents at $6.23 per bushel, while 2027 Crop Corn was up 6 cents at $6.08 per bushel. 2026 Crop Soybeans saw an increase of 10 cents to $15.58 per bushel.
Ontario Pork Reports noted that the U-S CME price was down by 14 cents from the previous day, reaching a value of $95.80 per hundredweight for dressed weight. The 100% formula price also declined, dropping 21 cents to $241.81 per hundred kilograms for dressed weight.
