Corn Exports Maintain Strong Push Ahead of Marketing Year End

Corn exports continue to show strong demand heading into the end of the marketing year. According to the USDA, corn inspections for the week ending August 27th were up on the year, with a total just under the record projection.

The increase in corn export movement is driven by competitive pricing and growing global demand for livestock feed and biofuels production.

Other grains, such as sorghum, soybeans, and wheat, saw below-year inspections. Wheat inspections were down 1,613 from the previous week and 373,988 from this time last year, with primary destinations being the Philippines and Taiwan.
