Corn Falls, Soybeans Rise as Markets React to USDA Data

The agricultural commodity markets are experiencing mixed results as of midmorning on September 3rd. Corn futures are down by around 4 cents, while soybean and meal prices are up by 4 to 5 cents and $5.80 respectively.

The USDA reported a significant reduction in net sales for corn during the week ending August 27th, at 829,600 MT. However, new-crop sales reached 1.986 MMT, exceeding analysts' expectations of between 500,000 MT to 1.6 MMT.

In related news, EU Agriculture Commissioner Christophe Hansen stated that the European Union is exploring all possible avenues to support grain exports from Ukraine and mitigate the financial impact of extreme weather on farmers.
