Corn Futures Close Weaker Amid Weakness in Front Months
Corn futures closed with weakness on Thursday, reflecting a decline in prices. The front months saw drops ranging from 2 to 3 ¼ cents, while deferred contracts showed minor gains of up to 1 ¼ cents.
The national average Cash Corn price decreased by 2 ¾ cents to $4.16 ¼. Weather forecasts indicate that the next seven days will bring 1 to 2 inches of precipitation across several eastern states, including Nebraska and parts of the Dakotas, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.
The Export Sales data released on Thursday showed a notable increase in corn sales for 2025/26, with 362,916 metric tons sold. This represents a three-week high and a 6.5% rise compared to the same week last year. Colombia and Mexico were among the top buyers, purchasing 173,900 and 129,800 metric tons respectively.
