Corn Futures End Mixed Amid Disappointing Yields
Corn futures ended mixed on Tuesday, September 26, with prices ranging from 1.75 cents lower to a penny higher across the board.
The national average cash corn price dropped 1.75 cents to $4.35.50.
The ProFarmer Crop Tour reported disappointing yields in some key states: South Dakota's corn averaged 149.09 bushels per acre, down 14.41% from last year and 8.37% below the three-year average. Ohio yields came in at 180.18 bpa, down 2.97% from a year ago.
The weekly Crop Progress report showed condition ratings decreasing by 1%, with 60% of corn in good to excellent condition. The Brugler500 index dropped 3 points to 353, with several states experiencing deteriorating conditions.
