Corn Futures Hold Steady Amid Lower Export Sales
Corn futures are trading steadily on Thursday, with most contracts holding within a penny of unchanged. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is up 1/4 cent at $4.07 1/4. The USDA reported export sales data for corn, showing 116,740 MT of corn for 2025/26, which was on the lower side of estimates and marked a marketing year low. This represents a 31.5% decrease from the same week last year. On the other hand, sales for 2026/27 were reported at 1.027 MMT, slightly above the previous week's high and below last year's numbers.
The upcoming week is expected to bring rain across several Midwestern states, including Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio, with totals ranging from 1 to 4 inches in some areas. This could have an impact on corn prices, but for now, futures remain steady.
