Corn Futures Hold Steady Amid Wheat and Bean Strength
Corn futures are holding steady after Friday's gains, with prices inching up by fractions of a cent. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price has recovered to $4.83 1/2, while nearby contracts have gained around 1 1/4 cents.
The strength in wheat and beans is providing some support to corn prices, which are currently trading at their highest levels. Export Sales data shows corn commitments for 2025/26 at 87.758 MMT, meeting the USDA export projection of 102% and matching last year's sale pace.
However, new crop sales for 2026/27 have slowed down significantly, with accumulated sales standing at 12.458 MMT - a 33.6% drop from the same week a year ago. Despite this, it remains one of the top four largest sales weeks over the past 30 years.
