Corn Futures Market Enters Sideways Trend Ahead of August WASDE Report
The corn futures market is currently experiencing a sideways trend, according to DTN Progressive Farmer's Interactive Commodity Futures Chart. As of August 11th, noncommercial traders held a net-long position of 244,912 contracts in most active corn futures. However, they trimmed their long positions slightly ahead of the August WASDE report, driven by seasonal price tendencies.
Commercial traders, on the other hand, are holding a net-short position of 198,128 contracts. But despite this, they were net-buyers of 10,217 contracts through the CFTC reporting period. The September 2026 contract is priced 24 1/4 cents lower than the December 2026 contract.
