Corn Futures Rebound with Strong USDA Export Sale Report
Corn futures staged a turnaround on Tuesday, recovering from Monday's weakness and closing higher across all contract months. The USDA reported a private export sale of 197,272 MT to unknown destinations for shipment in 2026/27.
The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price rose by 6 3/4 cents to $4.28 1/4, with front-month contracts closing between 5 and 6 ¾ cents higher. The deferred months were steady to 2 cents higher.
Monday's Crop Progress report showed that 78% of the US corn crop had silked by July 26, four percentage points ahead of the 5-year average. However, condition ratings for US corn fell 4%, with only Missouri seeing an improvement among major states.
