Corn Futures Rise on Export Demand and Favorable Crop Outlook
Corn futures rose on Friday morning due to increased export demand and a favorable crop outlook. The US Department of Agriculture reported 116,740 metric tons of corn export sales for the 2025/26 marketing year, which is a marketing-year low and 31.5% below the same week in the prior year.
The Reuters analyst survey ahead of next Wednesday's NASS Crop Production report pointed to an expected US corn yield of 182.4 bushels per acre and production of 15.934 billion bushels. This is slightly above the range of 180.5 to 184.8 bpa estimated by analysts.
The Brazilian government data showed that Brazil exported 1.943 MMT of corn in July, which was significantly above the prior month but 21.16% below the same month a year earlier. Industry group ANEC projected August corn exports at 4.08 MMT, representing a decline of 3.26 MMT from last year if realized.
