Corn futures are experiencing a downturn on Thursday, with contracts trading 2 to 3 cents lower at midday. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price has dropped by 2 3/4 cents, settling at $4.82 1/4.

The latest Export Sales data shows 31,220 MT of old crop corn sold for the week ending August 20, which falls within estimates of net reductions of 200,000 MT to net sales of 400,000 MT. This marks a marketing year low for old crop bookings. In contrast, new crop bookings reached a marketing year high at 1.066 MMT.

The data suggests that the market is experiencing a shift in demand and supply dynamics. However, it's essential to note that these figures are within expected ranges, which may not necessarily indicate a significant change in the overall trend.
