Corn Futures Start August with Losses Amid Spillover Weakness

Corn futures started August on a weak note, posting losses of 1.5 to 5 cents in the Friday session.

The September and December contracts both closed the week with a loss of 23.5 cents, while December was still up 28 cents for the week.

Open interest dropped by 3,693 contracts on Friday, suggesting some longs were exiting their positions.

The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price fell to $4.10, down 6 cents from the previous day.
