The price of corn futures was steady at $4.62 per bushel on Friday, despite a slight decline for the week due to position evening ahead of next week's USDA monthly supply and demand report.

However, the market saw some short covering and position evening, which helped keep prices above unchanged levels.

The USDA reported daily U.S. corn sales of 286,097 MT of corn to Mexico, with 29,808 MT for the 2026-27 crop year and 256,289 MT for the 2027-28 crop year.

In other news, the French corn crop is expected to decline by 35% to 9.0 MMT, its lowest since at least 1980, due to heatwaves and drought that have hurt crops.
