Corn Futures Surge on Strong Midday Gains

Corn futures have been on the rise since Sunday night, with midday gains holding strong at 11 to 12.5 cents.

The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price has also increased by 12.5 cents to $4.67.5, according to recent data.

This comes after Monday's Export Inspections report showed corn shipments at 1.296 MMT (51.03 mbu) in the week of August 20, down 33.32% from the previous week and 3.16% below the same period last year.

The largest destination for these shipments was Mexico, with 387,748 MT going to that country alone.
