Corn Market Roars as Fundamentals Reach Drought-Era Strength
Corn market analysts are sounding alarm bells as global supplies tighten and demand remains strong. Mike Zuzolo, founder of Global Commodity Analytics, believes that corn fundamentals have not been this robust since the 2012 drought. With harvest approaching, marketing decisions may be just as crucial as production numbers.
Zuzolo warns that a tighter cash supply globally, particularly in corn, could lead to increased demand for paper positions. He suggests considering storing corn if prices reach $5.50 or $5.75 in March or July 2027 futures contracts.
The main factors influencing corn prices, according to Zuzolo, will be tight global stocks, weather concerns in key growing regions, and resilient demand from producers as they move into harvest season.
