Corn Prices Edge Higher on Monday Amid Strong Export Demand
Corn prices are trending upward on Monday morning, with gains of 2 to 3 cents. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price remained unchanged at $4.09 1/2.
The USDA reported a private export sale of 286,097 MT of corn to Mexico on Friday, consisting of 29,808 MT for the 2026/27 crop year and 256,289 MT for the 2027/28 season.
Ahead of next Wednesday's August Crop Production report from NASS, a Reuters survey of analysts predicts a yield of 182.4 bushels per acre, with a range of 180.5 to 184.8 bpa. Harvested acres are expected to be trimmed by 76,000 acres, resulting in estimated production of 15.934 bbu.
According to CFTC data released on Friday afternoon, managed money added just 13,547 contracts to their net long in corn futures and options during the week of August 4th.
