Corn Prices Fall on Thursday as Export Sales Data Surpasses Expectations
Corn futures ended Thursday in the red as front months declined by 2 to 3.25 cents, while deferred contracts edged fractionally higher or rose up to 1.25 cents.
The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price slid 2.75 cents to $4.16.25. A forecast of 1 to 2 inches of precipitation is expected across much of the eastern Dakotas, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio over the next seven days.
The US Department of Agriculture reported export sales data for the week ending July 23, showing 362,916 metric tons in corn sales for the 2025/26 marketing year. This was a three-week high and a 6.5% increase from the same week last year.
