Corn Prices Rally on Monday, Exports Surge
Corn futures ended Monday's session with moderate gains, as prices for contracts across most months rose by $0.03 to $0.06 and a quarter.
The national average Cash Corn price jumped $0.06 and a quarter to $4.36 and a quarter.
The USDA's Crop Progress report revealed that 76% of the US corn crop had reached the dough stage by August 16, with 29% already dented and 4% listed as mature.
Condition ratings for corn declined by 1%, settling at 60% in good to excellent condition, while the Brugler500 index decreased by 3 points to 353.
The Export Inspections report showed a surge in corn shipments, with 1.91 MMT (75.23 mbu) shipped in the week of August 13, an increase of 8.55% from the previous week and 81.71% higher than the same period last year.
