Corn Prices Rebound Amid First Notice Day Declines
Corn prices rallied early on Friday morning after a slight pullback on Thursday. The market had seen some fade in the front months, but futures are currently up by 5 to 6 cents. Open interest was down on Thursday, with 7,972 contracts exiting September ahead of Monday's first notice day.
The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is at $4.82, down 3 cents from the previous close. Export Sales data showed a marketing year low for old crop corn, but new crop bookings reached a marketing year high. The Netherlands and Japan were among the top buyers of old crop corn, while unknown destinations and Mexico took the most new crop corn.
Total accumulated sales for 2026/27 are at 12.458 MMT, down 33.6% from the same week last year but still the 4th largest for the current week going back 30 years.
