Corn Prices See Correction Lower After July Rally
December 2026 corn futures reached their peak on May 13, 2026 at $5.06 per bushel but began to slide lower over the next six weeks.
The downturn continued until June 30, when prices bottomed out at $4.26 per bushel following the USDA Acreage report and quarterly Grain Stocks report.
However, this technical low marked a turning point for corn futures, which began to rally in July despite the seasonal trend of a slow month for price increases.
The counter-seasonal rally was fueled by heatwaves in Europe and flash droughts in parts of the United States, but it was short-lived, lasting only three weeks before profit taking led to a decline in prices.
