Corn Prices Soar Amid Yield Concerns and Strong Demand
Corn futures have seen a significant rally in recent months, outpacing Nvidia's stock market gains. While momentum indicators suggest the grain market has become overbought, this doesn't necessarily mean futures must decline.
The recent strength of corn prices has been supported by gains in wheat, as well as reports suggesting that corn yields could come in below initial estimates from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The USDA estimated yields at 180.7 bushels per acre on August 12, compared to a normal expected yield of 183 bushels per acre.
