Corn Prices Stage Comeback on Turnaround Tuesday
Corn prices are recovering from Monday's losses on what's being called Turnaround Tuesday. The commodity has seen a significant rebound, with contracts up by 7 to 8 cents.
The USDA reported a private export sale of 197,272 metric tons of corn for the 2026/27 shipment, which could be supporting prices. However, Brazil's National Supply Company (ANEC) estimates that the country's corn exports in July will drop by 0.4 million metric tons from last week.
The US corn crop is progressing well, with 78% of the crop silking by July 26, which is 4 percentage points ahead of the 5-year average. However, condition ratings for US corn have fallen to 63%, down 4% from Monday's report. The only state to see an improvement was Missouri.
