Corn Prices Top $4.90 as Soybeans Also See Gains
Corn prices have risen above $4.90 per bushel as of August 19, 2026. According to Successful Farming, December corn was up 3¾¢ at $4.91¾ per bushel. November soybeans also saw an increase, rising by 12¼¢ to $12.29 per bushel.
Cole Raisbeck, a commodities broker with Kluis Commodity Advisors, noted that the first half of the Pro Farmer Crop Tour is leaning friendly overall. However, he warned that as the market moves into the second half of August, seasonal pressure can start to build at these higher price levels.
The results from the national crop tour and forecasts for the second half of August will be closely watched by traders, particularly with near-normal temperatures and precipitation expected in the next 6-10 days. The U.S. Dollar Index September contract was down to 98.87 as of 8:30 a.m. CT.
