Corn, Soybean Futures Plummet as Wheat, Livestock Markets Follow Suit
The Chicago Board of Trade saw significant price drops for corn and soybean futures on July 27, 2026. September corn futures fell by 13 cents to $4.51 per bushel, while December corn futures dropped by 14 cents to $4.73 per bushel.
Soybean futures also took a hit, with September contracts down 42 cents at $11.97 per bushel and November contracts down 42 cents at $12.11 per bushel.
Wheat futures declined as well, with September contracts dropping by 20 cents to $6.58 per bushel and December contracts down by 19 cents to $6.76 per bushel.
In the livestock market, live cattle futures fell sharply, with October contracts down 420 cents at $218.30 per hundredweight and December contracts down 537 cents at $216.90 per hundredweight. Feeder cattle futures also declined, with September contracts down 1017 cents at $331.27 per hundredweight and October contracts down 1075 cents at $325.25 per hundredweight.
The prices for Ontario pork were up slightly, with the U.S. CME price increasing by 49 cents to $97.67 per hundredweight and the 100% formula price rising by $1.53 to $250.54 per hundred kilograms.
