Corn Supply Hits Decade Low Amid Tight Global Markets
The global corn supply has been declining for several years and is now forecast to total 275 million metric tons at the end of the 2026/27 marketing year, marking the tightest ending stocks in ten years. This represents a stock-to-use ratio of just 18%, down from 27.9% at the end of the 2016/16 marketing year.
The situation is even more critical for US corn, with a stock-to-use ratio of only 11%. Rationing would be warranted in both domestic and global corn markets under these conditions.
