Corn Syrup Prices Set for Modest Recovery in September
US corn syrup prices are expected to firm in September as seasonal demand from food and beverage manufacturers increases. This uptick is attributed to autumn and year-end production, which will require more procurement of corn syrup.
The potential reduction in Houston producer operating rates could further tighten near-term availability, encouraging corn syrup sellers to maintain firmer offers.
However, ongoing lower-fructose reformulation trends may limit the recovery in demand growth. Additionally, stable energy costs and favorable feedstock availability are expected to restrain cost-driven increases in prices.
In July, corn syrup prices declined slightly due to ample feedstock flows and muted industrial buying. During the first half of August, prices remained broadly subdued as comfortable supply and cautious procurement limited upward movement.
