Costco Hikes Motor Oil Prices Amid Soaring Crude Costs

Costco has raised the price of its Kirkland Signature full-synthetic motor oil to $58 per two-pack, up from around $30 last year. The wholesale club is also limiting customers to purchasing only two boxes per week.

This move comes as crude oil prices continue to rise due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Brent crude has jumped above $109 per barrel, contributing to higher gas prices across the US. The average cost of a gallon of regular gasoline has reached nearly $4.32, while diesel prices have soared past $6 per gallon.

The increased demand for diesel and gasoline is expected to continue, as oil companies prioritize refining crude into these fuels over motor oil. This shift may lead to higher prices for consumers seeking to perform their own oil changes.
